Venue: Sudama Mandir, New York, USA
August 10-14 2009 Sri Swamiji travelled to USA for programs in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Brahma Vidya Peetham and Sudama Mandir organised a five nights yagna in celebration of Sri Krishna Janamasthami.
Sri Swamiji spoke on the theme Bhajo Govindam, the beautiful, deep and meaningful verses of Aadi Shankaracharya. For the first time the audience listened to such in depth explanation of these very philosophical verses that hold the formula for life in this material world.
Swamiji presented a very clear explanation how these verses answer the questions to what is the material world, what is our purpose in this world and how to live in this world. Five nights easily went by as the audience fully participated in the lectures with the aid of the slide presentations that Sri Swamiji used to facilitate easier understanding of the verses.
Swamiji showed and spoke about the history of Vedic Sanatan Hindu Dharma from the Veda Period to the present age. He presented the great and divine personalities who gave their whole lives to protect, preserve and propagate this glorious dharma, culture, heritage and tradition.
The devotees after five nights claimed greater understanding of Sanatan Dharma after Sri Swamiji presented an expansive and global view of Hinduism to all. The committee of Sudama Mandir was extremely happy and wants to organise another lecture series very soon.
Having completed the program on Sri KrishnaJanamasthami night at Sudama Mandir, Swamiji was also humbly asked to come to Bhuvaneshwar Mandir so following the discourse he left with the devotees of Brahma Vidya Peetham to join in the services at the other temple.
There he also spoke for one hour and half hours on the greatness and glory of Bhagwan Shri Krishna. He presented three aspects of Sri Krishna: Bal Krishna (childhood of Sri Krishna), Dwarika Krishna (Krishna as King) and Mahabharata Krishna (Sri Krishna with Arjuna and shanka(conch shell) ready to protect dharma and rid society of all darkness, sorrows and sufferings). Sri Swamiji's divine presence, his chanting and singing brought the devotees to a culminating climax of bhakti, bhav and bliss.
Sri Swamiji also lectured at the mandir service on Sunday 16th August. |
